Why?

Why? Why’d you do that
You shouldn’t have done that
If I told you once I told you three times
You’ll get your punishments when you show me your crimes
It’s not a spell or a curse you put on me
Or the way you make me smile so tenderly
But how I wish it was your temper you were throwing
Dawn you for being so easygoing
I thought that time would tell
My sins would provoke you to raise some hell
Not a chance
Whatever happened to fiery romance
Oh how I wish it was those dishes you were throwing
Dawn you for being so easygoing
No, don’t give that line
Don’t try to tell me that inaction is not a crime
Can’t you see what kind of seeds you’re sowing?
Dawn you for being so easygoing

Esquecimento

Esquecem-me os tempos tal como eu me esqueço de tudo. Sobram-me detalhes de conversas paradas: um cabelo isolado pousado na risca que lhe atravessa o ombro; "sinto"; "(...)negligenciaste-me desde que começaste a andar com o teu grupinho (...)"; a força daquele abraço quando por fim o sorriso surgiu; "nem sei como aconteceu"; o fumo lentamente roendo o cigarro que lhe pendia das mãos; "não me olhes assim!"; os cabelos que caiam nos ombros como a vida naqueles olhos; "(...) mais ninguém?...Acho que afinal não vou"; "Ando tão parva...não ligues é da hora"; O vento a bater-me na cara enquanto os observo a descer as escadas; "Carol, tenho sempre tanto medo que ele me deixe quando discutimos"; aquele primeiro olhar, primeiro pensamento, primeira impressão comparando com tudo o que veio depois; "sinto-me vazia. Vou ver «Os Contemporâneos» e já venho";

I wrote this for you

Rostos vagos, dias largos, tanto tempo...
... la la la la la ... melodias que completam os passos com que percorro o meu caminho;
Portas, prédios, ruas, o sol;
Vroom, autocarros, carros e bicicletas, o jardim;
Bancos, pessoas, bolas rolando, o teu rosto ...
Por fim.

Let's Dance To Joy Division

I'm back in Liverpool,
And everything seems the same,
But I worked something out last night,
That changed this little boys brain,
A small piece of advice,
That took twenty-two years in the make,
And I will break it for you now,
Please learn from my mistakes,
Please learn from my mistakes.

Let's dance to joy division,
And celebrate the irony,
Everything is going wrong,
But we're so happy,
Let's dance to joy division,
And raise our glass to the ceiling,
'Cos this could all go so wrong,
But we're so happy,
Yeah we're so happy.

So if you're ever feeling down,
Grab your purse and take a taxi,
To the darker side of town,
That's where we'll be,
And we will wait for you and lead you through the dancefloor,
Up to the DJ booth,
You know what to ask for,
You know what to ask for.

Go ask for Joy Division,
And celebrate the irony,
Everything is going wrong,
But we're so happy,
Go ask for Joy Division,
And raise your glass to the ceiling,
'Cos this could all go so wrong,
But we're so happy,
So happy.

So let the love tear us apart,
I've found the cure for a broken heart,
Let it tear us apart, let the love tear us apart,
I've found the cure for a broken heart,
Let it tear us apart,(Let it tear us apart)
So let the love tear us apart,
I've found the cure for a broken heart,
Let it tear us apart,(Let it tear us apart)
So let the love tear us apart,
I've found the cure for a broken heart,
Let it tear us apart,
Let it tear us apart,
Let it tear us apart.

Let's dance to joy division,
And celebrate the irony,
Everything is going wrong,
But were so happy,
Let's dance to joy division,
And raise our glass to the ceiling,
'Cos this could all go so wrong,
But we're so happy,
Yeah we're so happy,
So happy,
Yeah we're so happy,
So happy,
Yeah we're so happy.

The Wombats

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
»Which road do I take?» she asked.
»Where do you want to go?» was his response.
»I don’t know,» Alice answered.
»Then,» said the cat, »it doesn’t matter.»

"Her books are always paperback; her bindings always broken. There is forever a book in her bag, if not in her hand; and every book she has read carries evidence of her, if not in a broken binding, then in a dog-eared page marked for a memorable passage. This is her journal. She is quiet, she is liberal, she is loyal, she is loving; she may not always agree with what you say but she will defend to the death your right to say it. "

Cigarettes and chocolate milk

Cigarettes and chocolate milk
These are just a couple of my cravings
Everything it seems
I likes a little bit stronger
A little bit thicker, a little bit harmful for me

If I should buy jellybeans
Have to eat them all in just one sitting
Everything it seems I likes a little bit sweeter
A little bit fatter, a little bit harmful for me

And then theres those other things
Which for several reasons we wont mention
Everything about em is a little bit stranger, a little bit harder
A little bit deadly

Its not very smart
Tends to make one part
So brokenhearted

Sitting here remembering me
Always been a shoe made for the city
Go ahead accuse me of just singing about places
With scrappy boys faces have general run of the town

Playing with prodigal sons
Take a lot of sentimental valiums
Cant expect the world to be your raggedy andy
While running on empty you little old doll with a frown

You got to keep in the game
Retaining mystique while facing forward
I suggest a reading of lesson in tightropes
Or surfing your high hopes or adios kansas

Its not very smart
Tends to make one part
So brokenhearted

Still theres not a show on my back
Holes or a friendly intervention
Im just a little bit heiress, a little bit irish
A little bit tower of pisa
Whenever I see ya
So please be kind if Im a mess

Estávamos a esquecer-nos tão depressa porque é
que a morte era uma ideia assim
tão triste, quando apagámos um nome
de lista de contactos
no telemóvel e nos tentámos lembramos
de coisas como o som da sua voz, ou de como
gostaria de ser recordado,
aliás, (a palavra certa é outra) esquecido.

Aborreço-me
deste escritor.
Gostava que Deus nos visse assim,
de pijama na cozinha, remelosos e vazios,
à espera da primeira chávena de café
e de algum twist no enredo destes dias
que vieram até aqui.

De volta ao quarto onde dorme ainda
a cinderela da noite passada,
vou rabiscando umas linhas, uma metáfora
molengona, a ver se colo duas estrofes
que não se entendem entre elas.
Por motivos óbvios penso na mão
que subiu pela saia da Mona Lisa
e lhe ensinou aquele sorriso.
É necessário ter tacto com coisas destas.

A gata borralheira finalmente acorda.

me achego mais a versos, nestes cadernos

Anda,
mata-me um pouco mais...

e vão suportando a nossa companhia.

The weirder you’re going to behave, the more normal you should look. It works in reverse, too. When I see a kid with three or four rings in his nose, I know there is absolutely nothing extraordinary about that person.

"a água corre pelas pálpebras pelas pontas do cabelo
contorna as palmas dos pés liberta-me o semblante
sento-me no chão e penso
deveria praticar ioga
talvez me cobrissem heras ou vinha virgem

as mulheres refilam choram têm síndrome pré-menstrual engravidam
deveria praticar ioga
talve me cobrissem heras ou vinha virgem
